What these terms cover
These terms apply to your use of handymanalgarve.pt and to any quote you request through it. Handyman Algarve operates this website and arranges home repair and maintenance work in the Algarve. Requesting a quote does not commit you to anything, and reading this site does not create an agreement between us.
Quotes are free and not binding until you accept them
Every quote is free. A quote states a price or an honest price range and a realistic time window, and it is valid only for the work described in it. Nothing is booked, ordered or started until you accept the quote. If, once the work begins, something turns out to be different from what was described, you are told before any additional work is carried out, and any change in price is agreed with you first.
Prices, ranges and information on this site
Where this site describes what determines the price of a service, that is general information to help you compare quotes, not an offer. Price ranges mentioned anywhere on the site are indicative, carry the year they refer to, and are never a substitute for a quote for your actual job. Guidance on this site about how repairs work, including anything you might attempt yourself, is general information about typical situations and cannot account for the condition of your property.
Who carries out the work, and who is responsible for it
The work is carried out by the professional assigned to your job. That professional performs the work under their own responsibility, including responsibility for the way it is executed, for the applicable warranty on it, and for holding whatever registration or insurance their trade requires. Handyman Algarve takes your request, prepares the quote, assigns the job and stays your point of contact from the first message to completion.
Where a job is outside what can be taken on, you are told promptly, and no quote is issued rather than one being stretched to fit.
Your part
Describing the problem accurately, including anything already attempted or any product already applied, is what makes a quote accurate and the work safe. Access has to be possible at the agreed time, and where a property is empty, access arrangements are agreed in advance. If something changes on your side, tell us as early as you can: a cancellation the day before costs nobody anything, while a professional arriving at a locked house costs somebody the morning.
Response times
We reply within one business day, usually much faster. That is the only time commitment made anywhere on this site. Arrival times are agreed per job in the quote, and no promise is made here about availability outside normal working hours.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Send the complaint through the quote form on the contact page, describing what was agreed and what happened, and it is answered rather than passed around. Complaints about work already carried out are taken up with the professional who carried it out, with Handyman Algarve as your point of contact throughout. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under Portuguese law.
Personal data
What we collect, why, who your request is shared with and how long it is kept are set out in the privacy policy. The cookie note covers what this site stores in your browser, which is nothing that identifies you.
Content and images on this site
The text, structure and images of this site belong to Handyman Algarve and may not be reproduced as a whole. Photographs on the site are illustrative images of typical situations. They are not photographs of work carried out and are not presented as examples of finished jobs.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the service develops. The version in force is the one published here, with the date of its last update at the top. The terms that apply to your job are the ones published on the day you accept your quote.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, and Portuguese courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
